Fire crews assist in Oakfield Park water rescue

OAKFIELD: Fire crews responded Tuesday night July 16 to a report of a person in the water on Grand Lake, near Oakfield Park.

Along with firefighters from Station 43 (Grand Lake) and Rescue Boat 42 (Wellington) and Rescue Boat 45 (Fall River), EHS and Halifax District RCMP also responded to the call shortly after 6:30 p.m.

The report was of one person in distress in the water, according to tweets from scanner traffic made by HRM Fire News. They are not associated with HRM Fire.

Fire launched their rescue boats to get to the scene, however command reported that the aided was picked up by a civilian boater, according to DNR.

The patient suffered no injuries.
