Fletchers Lake swimmer snags six provincial medals

FLETCHERS LAKE: A swimmer from Fletchers Lake captured a plethora of hardware at the recently held provincial swimming championships.

Cora Johnson, 14, swims with the Canada Games Centre Swim Academy summer swim team. She medalled in the 13-14-year-old age group in the 200 Individual Medley (silver); 400 metre freestyle (silver); 50 metre butterfly (silver); 100 metre (silver); 200 metre freestyle relay (silver); and a bronze medal in the 100 metre backstroke.

Johnson also made the 2019 NS All-Star Summer Swim Team, one of 10 swimmers from the Canada Games Centre squad that made the team.

The team had 27 swimmers attend the 2019 NS Summer Provincials and won a total of 55 medals and 42 ribbons during that weekend.
