LOWER SACKVILLE: The experience of the Lockview High Dragons football team was no match for the Sackville High Kingfishers young players during the annual Kinsmen Club Community Bowl, held at MET Field in Lower Sackville on Sept. 21.

Lockview didn’t utilize their defensive units a lot on the field as the offensive team saw a lot of playing time as the game was played in the Sackville side of the field for most of the game, played before an estimated 1,000 fans. The Dragons won 65-0.

Leading the Fall River-based Dragons attack were: Connor Clark who rushed for more than 200 yards and had two touchdowns, good enough to earn offensive player of the game. Hughie MacLennan; Matt Renouf; Matteo Di’quinzio; and Zack Hendsbee each had a touchdown.

Andrew Fergusson had two interceptions, one which he returned for a touchdown. Ethan Price had an interception which he also returned for a touchdown.

Fergusson was the Dragons defensive player of the game.

At halftime, there was entertainment during the Community Bowl which saw Sackville High’s student council battle Lockview High’s student council in a tug of rope. Here, the Lockview team is pictured trying to pull Sackville, but alas it was Sackville that won. (Healey photo)
