FALL RIVER: Crews from Dexter Construction will begin paving work on two of the communities main roadways today, Oct. 26.

In a release sent late on Oct. 25, Halifax Water advised motorists that work will begin on Lockview Road at or around 7 a.m., requiring traffic control/single-lane conditions that will extend throughout the day.

Two-way traffic will be maintained on Fall River Road between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. and from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The traffic lights at the Fall River Road/Highway 2 intersection shall function as per normal during the performance of these works. Pedestrian access will be maintained. There will be no loss of water, wastewater, or stormwater service.

Experienced traffic control personnel will be on-site to ensure smooth traffic flow around the work zones.

Motorists should expect delays and use alternate routes. Motorists are also reminded that speed fines double in work zones.

Halifax Water said they apologize for any inconvenience this necessary infrastructure improvement work may cause.

The work is part of the Fall River water project, which is nearing completion. It is expected work will be finished by mid-to-late November.
