HALIFAX: It was an emotional night for parents and students alike as they crossed the stage at the Halifax Forum during the graduation ceremony for Lockview High.

280 students heard their names read aloud before a packed Forum of family and friends on their big nights, ready to head off into post-secondary world and begin the next chapter in their lives.

Following the service, Dragon Fire and other major awards, including a military scholarship, the QEII medal and Governor General’s medals were presented.

Valedictorian Owen Allen spoke to his fellow graduates with a motivating and inspiring speech of how they can change the world.

The ceremony took just two hours and 20 minutes.

The 2020 graduation ceremony is already tentatively booked. It will be June 29, at 2 p.m. at the Halifax Forum.
