LOWER SACKVILLE: Halifax District RCMP is investigating three recent thefts of copper wire from Nova Scotia Power sub-stations in Lower Sackville and Middle Sackville.

The thefts occurred between December 26 and January 28, and each time a hole was cut in the fence, the premises was entered, and copper wire was cut and removed.

Nova Scotia Power prohibits public access to its sub-stations and other facilities that contain high voltage electrical equipment due to the high risk to personal and public safety. Anyone who unlawfully enters these premises is risking severe injuries to themselves and significant damage to onsite equipment.

The RCMP would like anyone who has information about these thefts to contact them – whether the information is about the thefts or if the wire is being re-sold. Anyone with information about these incidents is asked to contact Halifax District RCMP at 902 490-5020.
