WAVERLEY: The Under-18 provincial canoe/kayak team had six athletes from Waverley-based Cheema Aquatic Club as part of their roster, based on rankings from competitions held to date.

Cheema was represented by Sloan MacKenzie of Fall River in U18 women’s canoe; Laura MacKinnon in women’s kayak; Sawyer Capes as a winner and Cameron LeDrew in U18 men’s kayak; Nick Lamontagne of Fall River as a member of the U17 team and Matt Sampson of Waverley, both in U18 men’s canoe.

The athletes from the club listed were provisional nominations to the Atlantic Division of Canoe Kayak Canada team for the Canada Cup, which was set for June 27-July 1 in Ottawa.
