Waverley track star Boudreau chooses SMU

WAVERLEY: A track and field athlete living in Waverley will continue his track and field and cross country career with Saint Mary’s University Huskies, beginning in the fall of 2019.

Brody Boudreau, a Grade 12 student at Prince Andrew High school in Dartmouth, chose SMU after considering offers from universities in Ontario, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia.

The choice to attend SMU came after Boudreau chose their Bachelor of Commerce program with a focus on Human Resources Management. Boudreau said he was impressed with the level of focus on education, where student comes before athlete.

Boudreau teamed with three other runners to compete at the Atlantic University Sport relays, where they beat the provincial record in the 4×800 metre race.

As luck would have it, a few of his former teammates are also SMU students and he knows he has some big shoes to fill.

Boudreau has had success in hockey, basketball, and baseball, but running has been his passion for the past five years
