LOWER SACKVILLE: A 50-year-old woman has been charged by Halifax District RCMP following a weekend armed robbery at a gas station in Lower Sackville.

Darlene Joyce Johnson of Middle Sackville is facing charges of robbery; carrying a concealed weapon; possession of a weapon dangerous to the public; and uttering threats.

Police say at approximately 9:15 p.m. Saturday evening, Oct. 29, a woman with a knife entered a gas station on Sackville Dr. where she demanded cigarettes and money.

The gas station attendant handed over cigarettes and a small amount of cash and the woman left the store on foot. No one was injured.

Johnson appeared in court yesterday where she was remanded into custody and will return to Dartmouth Provincial Court on Nov. 4.
