Ferguson named to ACAA All-Conference first team

FREDERICTON, N.B.: A Lockview High alum was among the plethora of Holland College Hurricanes to storm away with the awards at the ACAA Volleyball championships awards banquet on Friday night, Feb. 23 in Fredericton, N.B.

Gracie Ferguson, a Fall River product, was one of four Hurricane volleyballers named to the first team ACAA All-Conference teams. Two Hurricanes were named to the women’s side, and two on the men’s team.

Ferguson is a third year setter for the ‘Canes and led the ACAA in assists per set with 8.07; she also holds the all-time record for the women’s volleyball Hurricanes with 1,680 career assists.

The Hurricanes will take to the court on Saturday in ACAA semi-final action with the women facing the third ranked, STU Tommies at 2pm. HC has won the series 3-0 versus the Tommies during the regular season. The men will then also play.

If the Hurricanes are victorious in Saturday’s matches they will advance to the ACAA Championship finals on Sunday at 1 p.m. for the women and 3 p.m. for the men.
