HAMILTON, ONT.: A Fall River Dragons football alum is heading to the Grey Cup final.

Brian Jones, a Grand Lake area product, and his Hamilton Ti-Cats defeated the Edmonton Eskimos 36-16 in the Eastern final on Nov. 17, advancing to the Grey Cup championship on Nov. 24 in Calgary, Alta.

The Ti-Cats led 13-0 after the first and 23-13 at half-time, before scoring 13 points compared to three in the final two quarters.

He was listed as getting in on special teams action in the Eastern final game, according to the CFL stats on its website.

Jones has previously won the Grey Cup with the Toronto Argonauts two years ago, before being dealt to Saskatchewan.

He was signed by Hamilton at the start of the year as a free agent, before he was released in late June.

The Ti-Cats re-signed him Aug. 5 to the practice roster. Jones made the move to the active roster where he has been a mainstay for the bulk of the past three months.

Hamilton will face the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the Grey Cup. TSN will televise the game live beginning at 7 p.m. Atlantic.
