Christine Campbell gets crowd warmed up as opening act July 30

WAVERLEY: Under bright sunshine, initial April Wine members and founder Myles Goodwyn took to the stage at the Village Green in Waverley performing as part of the Summer Concert Series.

Goodwyn, who grew up just a short distance away from the Village Green where he once used to play baseball, was joined by fellow former April Wine member Jim Henman for the second set of his performance.

The performance by the duo enthralled the 1,000-plus who filled the Village Green for the free outdoor concert. Even The Pirates from the Halifax Tall Ships came to listen to Goodwyn.

Christine Campbell opened the night, warming the crowd up before the much anticipated performance by Goodwyn and Henman.

Reporter Pat Healey was there and took some video which he has tweeted out @Laker_PatHealey and @TheLakerNews, and has posted on our YouTube Channel.
