FALL RIVER: Two Fall River youth have been named to the roster for the 2019 Baseball Nova Scotia Under-17 Selects team.
The roster was announced on April 17.
Shane Cowan and Michael Short, both of Fall River, were among the 18-player roster announced on April 17.
Short has previously played with the Badlands Academy Badgers, while Cowan has donned the jerseys of the U15 Selects and Tri-County AAA Rangers U15.
Hants County’s Ethan McLellan will be one of the returning players to the U17 Selects.
The team will represent the province at Baseball Canada’s U17 nationals in Regina, Sask. in August, and compete at the Tournament 12 Atlantic tryout tournament in early July. That will be held in N.B.
At the Canada Cup, the province is one of the teams that are permitted to bring up to two players that are “overagers” by one year. Those additions to the roster will be announced shortly.
