Release from the N.S. NDP
HALIFAX – NDP Education spokesperson Claudia Chender made the following statement about the joint press conference held by the Nova Scotia Teachers’ Union and Nova Scotia Parents for Public Education:
“Parents and teachers continue to raise serious questions about the reopening of our schools. The lack of information from the Liberal government is leading to higher levels of stress and anxiety, and this is not helpful in these challenging times.
“Parents, teachers, staff and administrators need to know that they will have the tools and training they need to effectively follow public health directives. Families need paid sick time.
“Teachers, students and staff need easy access to expedited COVID testing. The Liberals could start today by outlining a communication plan for regular updates from the Minister of Education to provide answers to these very real concerns.”
