DARTMOUTH: After many conversations with Liberal members and listening to their feedback and ideas, Amanda Mombourquette unveiled the first policy pillar of her leadership campaign: It’s Time To Rebuild – A
Shared Vision To Renew The Nova Scotia Liberal Party.
Gerard Bray, former Liberal Candidate for Halifax Chebucto, offered his endorsement for Amanda and her plan, stating “we need a leader who prioritizes our renewal so that we are able to offer strong opposition, build back the trust of Nova Scotians, and win the next general election.
“I believe Amanda is the right person to lead us into the future.”
With the Toward Renewal report in mind, Amanda’s plan for renewal is based on three major pieces: Members, EDAs, and Election Readiness.
“[It is] way past time to create a party that will offer Nova Scotians an inclusive party that reflects their concerns and aspirations,” said Mombourquette, to the membership gathered at the Fairbanks Interpretive Centre in Dartmouth.
“The Liberal party has been here before, and we’ve rebuilt to come back with strong governments that did important things in Nova Scotia.”

During her remarks, Mombourquette referenced the many conversations she has had with the Liberal membership across the province and how this feedback, combined with her extensive career experience in rebuilding, has provided the roots for her plan to rebuild the Nova Scotia Liberal Party.
She acknowledged that members are the critical base of the party.
“We have not been listening to [our members], and we must. Because, in every corner of this province, Liberals have the knowledge and wisdom to build a more effective party, and a stronger, more prosperous province.
“My plan will ensure that we’re listening to the members and consulting them on the issues and opportunities that matter in
every part of the province.”
