KENNETCOOK: The East Hants Nationals are provincial champions.
The U13 AA Nationals put together an impressive weekend at the Baseball Nova Scotia U13 AA Tier 1 Provincial Championships, defeating some of the province’s top teams on their way to the title at Findlay Park in Kennetcook.
The tournament was hosted by the Hants North Jays organization and featured seven teams: Hants North, Glace Bay, East Hants, Dartmouth, Tri County, Halifax, and Hammonds Plains.
East Hants opened the tournament in convincing fashion Friday with a 13-6 victory over Dartmouth.
Kai Kuhn, a call-up from the 11U AA program, earned Player of the Game honours in the victory after tripling and scoring three runs.

The Nationals followed that up with another strong performance, defeating Halifax 16-3. Elliott Seitl was named Player of the Game after an outstanding performance on the mound.
In the semifinal, East Hants faced Hants North. Max Connor delivered when his team needed him most, earning Player of the Game honours after pitching an incredible game and helping the Nationals punch their ticket to the championship final with a 1-0 win.
East Hants then met Glace Bay with the provincial championship on the line.
Sam Speight earned Player of the Game honours in the final for his strong performance at the plate and in the field.
The Nationals completed their championship run with a 15-3 victory and captured the Baseball Nova Scotia 13U AA Tier 1 Provincial Championship.

The title was the reward for a season of hard work from the players, along with the dedication of the coaching staff in helping the young athletes continue to develop both on and off the field.
East Hants will now carry the Nova Scotia flag to Prince Edward Island after earning the right to represent the province at the Atlantic Championships, scheduled for Sept. 18-20.
