FALL RIVER: A local law office is looking to help answers questions residents have on legal related items.

The “What’s the Buzz: Legal Information with Merida Law” nights will be held regularly.

The first one is set for Sept. 23 from 6-7 p.m. at the LWF Hall at 843 Fall River Road in Fall River. Up first for discussion will be Wills and Estate Planning.

The format of all of these sessions will be similar – they will start out by giving attendees some legal information on the topics to think about and prepare for.

Following that, they will open it up for questions if anyone has them.

Merida Law does note that they will not be able to give specific legal advice to people and will have to limit our answers to providing general legal information.

“We plan to have another session in the Winter (probably in January) about family law mediation,” said lawyer Katie Brady. “ Then we will have another session in the spring (late March or early April) and the topic for that one will be Residential Real Estate – like buying and selling homes.”

After opening in 2022, Merida Law is really happy with how they have been welcomed in the community.

“We’re hosting this session as a way to give back to the community by sharing useful information,” said Brady. “It’s also a chance for people to get to know us and the work we do.

“We are hoping that this can be a way for community members to access legal information in a way that is informal and accessible. “

Brady said if people have specific areas that they would like to get more information about it’s possible there could be future sessions discussing those topics.
