HALIFAX: Local drivers made their presence felt at Scotia Speedworld Sunday, with Enfield’s Gage Gilby leading the way with a fourth-place finish in the Summer Clash 250 presented by Superior Foundations and Atlantic Tiltload.
Gilby, driving the No. 25g CKG Elevator car, crossed the finish line after completing all 250 laps, finishing just outside the podium in a race won by Truro’s Dylan Blenkhorn.
Blenkhorn captured his third career Summer Clash 250 victory, taking the checkered flag ahead of championship leader Ashton Tucker of Miramichi, N.B., and Cory Hall of Jolicure, N.B.
Blenkhorn also earned the R&D Performancentre Most Laps Led Award.

For the local contingent, Gilby’s fourth-place run was the standout result.
He had already shown his pace during Friday’s Top Construction Time Trials, where Hall edged him for the front-row starting positions.
Gilby then backed up that performance by bringing the car home fourth in the 250-lap feature.
Shubenacadie’s Braden Langille also put together a strong run in the No. 26 Coldstream Clear Distillery hot rod.
He finished ninth and completed all 250 laps, making him the last car on the lead lap. The next finisher, Robbie MacEwen, was one lap down.
Langille’s ninth-place finish was particularly notable in a race that saw just three lead changes and seven cautions.

The other local-area drivers also faced the challenge of the 250-lap event.
Colton Noble of Nine Mile River brought the No. 0 Summer Clash 250 car home 12th after completing 247 laps.
Fall River’s Marty Prevost finished 18th in the No. 11 BTP Construction car with 90 laps completed, while Windsor Junction’s Ayden Christensen was listed 23rd in the No. 24 AMP Disposal car.
Jarrett Butcher in the no. 54 had damage from a lap 1 wreck and called it a day shortly after, finishing in 20th place.
At the front, Blenkhorn dominated the closing stages to secure the $15,000 minimum winner’s purse, plus additional lap money, according to the Pro Stock Tour recap.
Cory Hall claimed the Eastlink Fastest Lap Award, while the no. 31 of Sydney’s Chris Reid earned the Swift Springs Hard Charger Award.
Owen Mahar was named the Lucas Oil Rookie of the Race.
The Fort Garry Industries Pro Stock Tour now heads to Prince Edward Island for the Mr. Lube + Tires 150 at Oyster Bed Speedway in Oyster Bed Bridge on Aug. 29. Green flag is set for 6 p.m. Rain date is set for Aug. 30 at 2 p.m.
