DOLLAR LAKE: The water may have been a bit rough and choppy off Dollar Lake Provincial Park, but that didn’t stop a Milford woman from conquering it–all for a good cause.

Grace Heukshorst, a lifeguard at Dollar Lake, and Paul D’eon, the director of the Nova Scotia Lifeguard Service (NSLS), both took to the waters as part of the BrigaSwim fundraiser for Brigadoon Village. The BrigaSwim took place between Aug. 10-14.

Heukshorst, a HERH alum, swam her one kilometre Brigadon swim at Dollar Lake in less than 17 minutes.

Both Heukshorst and D’eon had a great swim despite the weather conditions. Both Grace and Paul are still hard at work Fundraising for this worthy cause.

Heukshorst was one of the many N.S. Lifeguard Service lifeguards from the Dollar Lake region that accepted the challenge to take part in the BrigaSwim.
