Dragons football training camps open

FALL RIVER: Training camps have officially opened for all levels in Dragons Minor Football, and it would appear numbers are down slightly for some teams.

That low numbers could mean some of the teams don’t happen if they don’t get a bit of a bump in the next couple weeks as teams practice in preparation for the season beginning in September and running until the playoffs in November.

The four divisions that will be don Dragons Football colours are Mites (Grade 1-3); Atom (Grade 4-5); Peewee (Grade 6-7); and Bantam (Grade 8-9).

For each division, the registration fees cover the entire youth tackle football program, outside of any extra or added day trips to a university football game or swimming pool adventure. The association supplies all the specialized football gear needed to play the game. The player only needs to get a pair of cleats.

Helmets, shoulder pads, football pants, belts, and jerseys are all loaned out to the player through the Association. Game socks and mouth-guards are also provided.

To register and find out more information, check out the association’s website at dragons-football.com and their Facebook page “Fall River Dragons Minor Football.”
