ELMSDALE: The COVID19 primary assessment centre in Elmsdale closed in early May, the Nova Scotia Health Authority (NSHA) confirmed in an interview on June 2.

The Laker News inquired for an update on the testing centre, which was located at the blood collection lab at the Lloyd E. Matheson Centre in Elmsdale.

NSHA spokesman Brendan Elliott said the centre, which was only a temporary centre as the area was a “hot spot” early on for COVID19.

“As the number of individuals receiving testing in Elmsdale dwindled toward the end of April, we made the decision to close it in early May,” said Elliott.

He did say those needing to be tested are being looked after.

“Since the closing of the Elmsdale centre, individuals requiring testing have been redirected to the primary assessment centre in Truro,” he said.
