Fall River couple hoping to give Beacon House a boost with fundraiser

FALL RIVER: A local food bank is getting a boost from a Fall River couple.

Cathy Deagle-Gammon and husband Percy are holding an online Feed A Family at Beacon House fundraiser. The campaign is scheduled to end on May 12, which marks the couple’s 25th anniversary.

“We can’t think of a better way to celebrate than knowing our community of incredible people share the love of a meal with those who need it most,” said Deagle-Gammon.

The two said they thought of Beacon House as their benefactor quite easily, especially given the closures of businesses due to COVID19.

“Today many are out of work, laid off, isolated and for food banks the need is increasing each day,” said Deagle-Gammon. “Donations are down a bit as incomes are decreased, so Percy and I would like to feed a family through Beacon House and wish for as many of our friends and family to do the same. “
