Hammonds Plains man, 25, arrested following head-on collision

HAMMONDS PLAINS: A 25-year-old Hammonds Plains man was arrested by RCMP following a head-on collision on June 7 in the community of Hmamonds Plains.

At 5:15 p.m. on June 7, Halifax District RCMP responded to a head-on collision involving two vehicles on Hammonds Plains Rd near Yankeetown Rd.

Preliminary investigation reveals that a silver car crossed the center line and struck a red car that was driving in the oncoming lane. Information was provided to police that the silver car was travelling in a dangerous manner prior to the collision.

The occupants of the red car, an adult woman and two children were transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. 

The driver of the silver car was also transported to hospital for non-life threatening injuries. 

The driver, a 25-year-old man of Hammonds Plains, was later arrested without incident for Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle Causing Bodily Harm. 

He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court on November 30.
