LOWER SACKVILLE: It is now easier than ever for Nova Scotians to buy locally made building supplies and materials.
Atlantic Canadian retailer Kent Building Supplies joined the Nova Scotia Loyal movement today, September 21, with an announcement at the store’s Dartmouth Crossing location.
The program provides stores with marketing materials and campaigns to help Nova Scotia-made products stand out on shelves.
“With ongoing trade uncertainty creating challenges and putting added pressure on Canadian businesses, buying local has never been more important,” said Colton LeBlanc, Minister of Growth, Development and Defence Industries. “Every dollar spent on a Nova Scotia product is a direct investment in the hard-working people who build our communities and drive our economy.
“Choosing local strengthens demand for homegrown products, protects jobs and keeps more money here at home. Nova Scotia Loyal makes that choice simple by clearly identifying products made right here in our province.”
The announcement included a small trade show with Nova Scotia Loyal businesses that have products sold at Kent. Nova Scotia Loyal merchandising teams represent more than 800 local producers and 11,500 locally made products.
