DALLAS/ALLEN, TEXAS and CINCINNATI, OH.: Two Enfield hockey brothers will continue their professional careers this season after Liam and Riley Kidney each signed ECHL contracts with different clubs for the 2026-27 season.

Liam Kidney has signed with the Cincinnati Cyclones, the ECHL affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs, while his older brother Riley has agreed to terms with the Allen Americans, the ECHL affiliate of the Ottawa Senators.

For the Kidney family, it means two brothers will once again be chasing their professional hockey dreams at the same time, although they will do so in different cities and organizations.

Liam, 25, is preparing for his first full professional season with Cincinnati after joining the Cyclones late last season following the conclusion of his collegiate career at Acadia University.

The forward appeared in 19 games with the Cyclones during the 2025-26 campaign, recording eight points on four goals and four assists.

His performance during that late-season opportunity has earned him another chance with Cincinnati, this time with the opportunity to be with the club for a full season.

Meanwhile, Riley Kidney will return to the Allen Americans after making a brief appearance with the team during last year’s postseason.

The 24-year-old suited up in four playoff games for Allen, scoring twice and adding an assist.

Allen Head Coach and General Manager Steve Martinson said the organization liked what it saw from Kidney during his short playoff stint.

“We really liked Riley’s game and attitude during his short time with the Americans last season,” Martinson said.

“I expect him to be a dominant player in our lineup.”

Riley is expected to attend the AHL’s Belleville Senators training camp in an effort to earn a spot with that organization.
