LOWER SACKVILLE: It was an evening of music, family fun and community spirit at Acadia Park on September 13.
The Woodbine Community N.S. Non-Profit Society hosted a free outdoor concert featuring Jon Cyr & Sons, bringing residents together for an evening of live country music.
Families and friends gathered with lawn chairs and blankets while enjoying the music, with the park playground providing entertainment for the kids and a canteen offering refreshments.
But the evening was about more than just music.
The event also highlighted the importance of giving back to the community.

A giant 50/50 fundraiser was held in support of the Woodbine Community N.S. Non-Profit Society and its work helping land-lease community residents.
Those attending were also encouraged to bring new socks for Socks for Shelters and/or non-perishable food items for the Beacon House Food Bank.
Donations also gave people a chance to win prizes, including a $100 pizza party from Freeman’s or a free night of pool for six at Dooly’s Lower Sackville.
It was a great example of a community coming together, enjoying some music while supporting important causes close to home.
We were there to capture the evening.
