Porters Lake man charged after cocaine seized in Enfield traffic stop

ENFIELD HRM: A 31-year-old man from Porters Lake has been charged following a stop on Highway 102 in Enfield, HRM on Nov. 19.

The seizure of a significant amount of cocaine, valued at close to $1 million in street value, came about after a search of a vehicle was conducted by police.

At approximately 10 a.m. Nov. 19, members of the Guns and Gangs Unit of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division assisted by the Halifax Regional Police Emergency Response Team and Canada Border Services officers conducted a search of a vehicle on Highway 102 near the Enfield exit, in relation to an ongoing investigation.

The driver, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, was arrested without incident.

Investigators seized nine kilograms of cocaine (street value approximately $1 million), approximately 140 packages of cannabis edibles, five cases of illegal tobacco and over $7,000.



Terrance John Keeping, 31, of Porters Lake, is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court at a later date to face charges:
•Possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled substance
•Possession for the purposes of distributing cannabis
•Possession for the purposes of selling cannabis
•Possession of property obtained by crime
