Robbery charges laid in Dartmouth incident

DARTMOUTH: A 40-year-old man faces charges related to a robbery in Dartmouth on Oct. 4, Halifax Regional Police said.

On October 4 at approximately 7 p.m., police responded to a robbery at Canadian Tire, located at 30 Lamont Terrace in Dartmouth.

It was reported that three men were inside the store taking merchandise. One suspect threatened staff with a knife while the other two fled in a vehicle. Upon arrival, officers arrested the suspect with the knife.

The knife was seized without incident.

There were no reported physical injuries.

A 40-year-old man, is scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court at a later date to face charges of:

-Robbery

– two counts of Assault with a weapon (x2)

– Possess weapon for dangerous purpose

– Breach of release order

The investigation is ongoing.
