SCOTIA SPEEDWORLD: The green flag has flown on the COVID19 shortened 2020 race season at Scotia Speedworld, near Enfield, albeit without any fans.
On the first night of race action Aug. 21 at the track located across from Halifax Stanfield Airport, local East Hants drivers Gage Gilby in the no. 25 (Bandolero Outlaw division); Matt Vaughan of Lantz (Sportsman); and Shubenacadie’s Braden Langille were among the ones to wave the checkered flag after the races were over.
The Laker News is on several of the race cars that are competing. Those cars with our decal finished: first in Beginner Bando with Chase Livingstone in the no.39; Bandit/Outlaw Bandos 8 Dawson Noble in fourth; 24 Ayden Christenson (sixth, but first Bandit car); 88 Caden Tufts (eighth). Toursec Thunder/Lightning 141 Richard Drake (fifth); 133 Tyler Hallahan (ninth); and the 168 of Garth Bezanson (12th).
The second race of the season is set for this Friday night, Aug. 28. Green flag flies at 7 p.m.
