UPDATED: Hilden man identified as driver of truck that hit RCMP vehicle in Shubenacadie

SHUBENACADIE: Colchester District RCMP have identified the truck and driver from the incident that occurred on April 16 in Shubenacadie East.

A 20-year-old man from Hilden was arrested without incident and charges are pending.

The investigation is ongoing.

On April 16 at approximately 8 p.m., a member of Colchester District RCMP had their vehicle damaged when it was struck by a truck that was fleeing the area.

The police officer was investigating the truck and its occupants, as it was parked behind a recycling business on Hwy. 2 in Shubenacadie. The police vehicle was “nose to nose” with the truck, and the police officer saw the driver discarding a box of beer on the lawn of the business.

The driver of the truck then backed up, and attempted to drive around the police vehicle, striking the police vehicle in the rear driver’s side.

Police say the truck left the area, headed towards Stewiacke. The police officer saw two men inside the truck.

• regular cab with a suspension lift kit
• window visors
• after market rims & tires
• roll bar
• chrome bumper
