FALL RIVER: Kai Dwyer has been named to the Gymnastics Canada team representing the country at the 2019 2019 FIG Trampoline Gymnastics World Age Group Competition (WAGC) in Tokyo, Japan from December 5-8.
Dwyer, of Fall River, will compete in the individual trampoline, boys 17-21-years-old class. He trains out of Titans Gymnastics.
“The World Age Group Competition gives our junior athletes the opportunity to compete against the best in the world in their age category,” said Karen Cockburn, national team director for trampoline gymnastics at Gymnastics Canada.. “Competing in the Olympic venue for Tokyo 2020 is a unique opportunity and we hope it will inspire our next generation of athletes.
“Canada will be well represented across all events and our athletes are looking forward to performing on the world stage.”
The selection process for the WAGC team included the 2019 Elite Canada held in Calgary, AB in May and the 2019 Canadian Championships in Oshawa, ON this past July.
