STEWIACKE: The Stewiacke Volunteer Fire Department has recently purchased several new pieces of equipment with the money fundraised through the 50-50 firefighter fundraiser.
One of the new pieces of equipment is a Blitzfire nozzle.
Recently, they had the opportunity to train with it prior to putting it into service.
The training gave them the opportunity to set it up without having to commit a firefighter to sit with it, it can be used to suppress fires and or protect exposed structures in a fire.
It can oscillate back and forth, change nozzle pattern, and have gallons set from 100-500 per minute depending on it’s need.
“Your support in the 50-50 firefighter fundraiser gives us a chance to improve our equipment and service,” said the post on the department’s FB page.
