WAVERLEY: The McDonald Sports Park in Waverley is getting a boost in support from a local financial institution.
On Thursday afternoon Dec. 9, Sports Park volunteer Barry Dalrymple was at the East Coast Credit Union branch in the Fall River Shopping Plaza to accept a cheque to help the Sports Park out.
The money is going towards the construction of a gazebo and boardwalk (repairs and such) at the Sports Park, located on Champions Way in Waverley just past Cheema Aquatic Club.
A total of $2,300 was provided by the Credit Union to the Sports Park for the project. Representatives from Credit Union Fall River management made the presentation.
Credit Union was pleased to be able to provide the support, and the Sports Park was very appreciative of being supported by their local Credit Union.
Dalrymple said work on the gazebo and boardwalk will begin in the Spring so users of the Sports Park should be able to see the new fixes once the snow flies.
