DARTMOUTH: A hockey player from Lantz and a goalie from Beaver Bank put in solid efforts as the Action Benefits Lady Penguins earned a weekend split in Maritime Major Female Hockey League action on the weekend.
The Pens defeated the Fundy Kraken 4-0 after suffering a tough loss to the Western Flames 3-0 in the Pens home opener at the RBC Centre Rink C.
The win kept the Pens ahead of rival Greenfoot Energy Capitals in the league standings, in fourth place.

Against the Flames, the visitors scored three times in the third period to break open a scoreless game and win 3-0.
The two teams played even through two periods of play in what was an exciting game.
Kaitlyn Langille suffered the loss in net, but deserved a better fate, after standing on her head in the game.
The Windsor Junction goalie made 36 saves on 39 shots.

On Sunday, Ellie Isenor of Lantz scored twice including what was the eventual game winner in the first period and Cicely Harnum turned away all eight pucks she faced for the shutout win 4-0.
Isenor also added a helper in the contest.
Mia Fabrizi of Fall River and Georgia Stevens had the other tallies for the Pens.
Rachel Hartnell of Fall River, Ava Kennedy, Molly Amirault, and Sar Almond had the single assists in the game.
The Pens fired 52 shots on Kraken goalie Morgan Redmond.
