LANTZ: In a battle of David vs Goliath, it was David coming out on top in N.S. U16 AAA hockey league play at the Ice Pad B at the East Hants Sportsplex.

The Kings Hockey team came in as the fourth-place team facing the Fundy Thunder in a rematch of a game from the day before in Sackville. Fundy is 10th in the 11-team league.

But it was the Thunder who were determined to come out with the victory.

As the two teams played an exciting contest, it was a late penalty that came back to haunt the Kings.

Daniel Vandenburg scored the powerplay goal past Nolan McLauchlan who appeared to not even see the shot through a screen by a player in his crease.

That tied the game and would see the game head to overtime, which solved nothing.

Fundy scored in the shootout to pick up win two on the season. The player who scored wasn’t posted on the online game sheet.
