FLETCHERS LAKE: Here is a look at the local sports athletes we’re aware of and how they’re faring this season with their respective teams and sports.

These are the athletes we know of with information as of Dec. 17, 2019.

NCAA Women’s Soccer

Syd Kennedy, Fletchers Lake, University of Florida Gators

Syd played in four games for the Gators in the season, recording one shot on goal in 21 minutes of play during her rookie season with the squad.

The Gators finished the season 11-9-1.

AUS Women’s basketball

Ashleigh Marshall, Fall River, UPEI Panthers

Ashleigh is in her rookie season with the Panthers basketball team in the land of Anne. The Lockview High star alum has tallied 11 points over 58 minutes played during seven games of play for the fourth place UPEI squad, who sit at 5-2 (won-loss). She is 3-15 from the three point line.

Marshall also has six personal fouls.

AUS football

Jeremy Harper, Defensive End, Fall River, St. Francis Xavier University

The Fall River product was in his freshman season with the X-Men, who finished last in the four-team league at 2-6. He played in five games, snagging one tackle during his playing time.

European Hockey

Olafr Schmidt, G, Lakeview, Ravensburg Towerstars, DEL 2

The Lakeview area native is having an outstanding season with the Towerstars. In 20 games played, he has a 2.79 Goals Against Average with an 88.6 save percentage.

QMJHL hockey

Andrew Coxhead, F, Fall River, Rimouski Oceanic.

With the Quebec Remparts prior to his trade on Dec. 15, Coxhead of Fall River has tallied eight goals and 10 assists in 23 games played, racking up 25 penalty minutes. He also is plus/minus-13.

He was traded to the Remparts as the QMJHL trade period open, going from a 16th place team to one that is favoured to contend for the league title.

Cole Foston, F, Beaver Bank, Halifax Mooseheads

Foston has suited up in just 10 games with the hometown Herd due to being sidelined by injury. He has no points and two penalty minutes in that time. He is also a plus/minus-5.

The forward is expected to see much more playing time during the second half of the season with the Mooseheads making several trades as they rebuild.

Ryan Francis, F, Beaver Bank, Cape Breton Screaming Eagles

The Beaver Bank product has been a star with the Eagles during the first half of the season, sniping 15 goals and assisting on 30 others in 33 games played. He also has 26 penalty minutes, while being a plus/minus-+14 this season.

MHL

Nolan Boyd, G, Fall River, Grand Falls Rapids

Boyd, of Fall River and a prospect of the Charlottetown Islanders, has had a tough second season with the Rapids, who sit fifth in the Eastlink North division and are 10th overall in the 12-team Maritime Hockey League (MHL).

The Lockview High alum has 3-5-0-1 (won-loss-tied-overtime loss) record , surrendering 36 goal;s against in 535 minutes played.

Boyd has a 4.04 Goals Against Average.

Jr B

Jonathan Pickrem, G, Fall River, Sackville Blazers

The Fall River goalie, a prospect of the Halifax Mooseheads, is 8-3 (won-loss) with the Jr B Blazers, recording two shutouts during that process. He has recorded a 3.31 Goals Against Average in 634.98 minutes of play. He’s allowed 35 goals on 393 shots.
