Beaver Bank athlete competing at Box Lacrosse nationals

BEAVER BANK: A young Beaver Bank athlete will don the N.S. jersey this week to represent the province at a national championship in western Canada.

The right-handed shooting Grant Sexton is heading west as the Box Lacrosse nationals take place in Coquitlam, B.C. from Aug. 20 to 24.

The Canadian Lacrosse Association is the sanctioning organizers of the event, which will feature teams from peewee, bantam, midget, and female minor.

Team N.S. opens against Team First Nation at 10:30 a.m. PDT (2:30 p.m. ADT) and Team Ontario at 2:30 p.m. (PDT) (6:30 p.m. ADT) on day one, Aug. 20.

They play Team Manitoba and Saskatchewan in a pair of contests on Aug. 21, before concluding against the host Team B.C. on Aug. 22.
