WAVERLEY: An annual tradition continued on a sunny Tuesday morning, Nov. 10, in Waverley.

Children from Becky’s Daycare, led by their two teachers, made the walk from their Rocky Lake Drive location down along the sidewalk to the Waverley Legion for a special presentation.

Each year for the past few years (at least since this reporter has been covering things for The Laker) the children give a handmade poppy to representatives from the Legion to place at the cenotaph during their Remembrance Day ceremony.

On this day, the children presented the poppy and sang a great version of O Canada for the Legion members on-hand at the Legion cenotaph.

The Waverley Legion’s Remembrance Day service will be limited, but will be livestreamed on The Laker’s Facebook page beginning at 11 a.m.
