MOUNT UNIACKE: RCMP are investigating after a counterfeit $100 bill was presented on March 7 at a Mount Uniacke gas station.

S/Sgt. Cory Bushell, with the Enfield detachment of East Hants RCMP, said the bill had distinctive markings which would normally alert a cashier the bill was a fake.

“However, the markings were concealed with painter’s tape,” said S/Sgt. Bushell.

He said the suspect is described as a white female in her 20’s with dark brown hair and a dark jacket, driving a silver two-door Hyundai Accent.

“The suspect used the bill to purchase cigarettes,” said S/Sgt. Bushell.

S/Sgt. Bushell said anyone with information regarding the identity of the suspect or the origin of the bill is asked to call the East Hants RCMP at 902-883-7077.
