LOWER SACKVILLE: Community members are invited to enjoy an evening of live country music this Sunday, August 23, as Jon Cyr & Sons take the stage at Acadia Park from 6 to 8 p.m.
The free family-friendly concert will offer plenty to enjoy, including live music, face painting for children by Five Little Monkeys Entertainment, and a canteen with pop, chips and water.
The event will also feature a giant 50/50 in support of the Woodbine Community NS Non-Profit Society, helping land-lease community residents.
Organizers are also collecting donations for the community. Those attending are encouraged to bring a new pair of socks for Socks for Shelters and/or a non-perishable food item for Beacon House Food Bank.
Donors will receive a ballot for a chance to win prizes, including a $100 pizza party from Freeman’s or a free night of pool for six at Dooly’s Lower Sackville.

The concert is planned rain or shine. If weather forces the event indoors to Acadia Hall, a decision will be made by noon Sunday.
The first 100 people who reserved free tickets will be admitted to Acadia Hall in the event of rain.

Residents are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket, gather with family and friends, and enjoy an evening of country music while supporting some worthwhile local causes.
