LANTZ: The East Hants Ritchie’s Renovations & Excavation Penguins kicked off their quick pre-season game schedule on Friday night.
The Pens hosted the Windsor Oxen in the first of a home-and-home set with the Oxen.
The two teams played Saturday in West Hants.
In Lantz, the Oxen rallied back for a 9-6 win; Saturday the Oxen ran over the Pens 10-3.
Against Windsor in Lantz, East Hants goals were scored by Ian Ramsay with two helpers; Jake O’Connor; Jayson Hanson; Duncan MacMillan; and Liam Conlon.
Assists went to Conlon; Gregor Beach; Jacob Sanford; Luke Murphy; Ado Kelday; and Liam Nicholson.
Colby Brown was between the pipes for the Pens.
Wellington’s Payson Stewart, a former Pen, started for the Oxen in goal in the first period.

East Hants wrapped up their pre-season play on Sunday night at Dalhousie University against the Lumberjacks.
The Pens and South Shore will open the season against each other at the Keith Miller Arena in the East Hants Sportsplex in Lantz on Friday night, Sept. 11.
Game time is set for 7:30 p.m.
