SCOTIA SPEEDWORLD: It was a night Joey Livingstone won’t soon forget.
Livingstone drove the No. 01 to his first career feature victory at Scotia Speedworld Friday night, taking the Maritime Auto Glass Sportsman 40-lap feature during the third-last Bay Equipment Rentals Weekly Racing Series event of the 2026 season.
And given what Livingstone has been through away from the track over the past month, the victory carried considerably more meaning than a checkered flag.
Livingstone lost his partner, Heather, suddenly in July, making Friday night’s victory an emotional one.
When he finally crossed the finish line first, the excitement was unmistakable.
Livingstone said he believed Heather was watching over him on this night and helping him find his way to the checkered flag.

It was a particularly meaningful victory for a driver who had been waiting for that first Sportsman feature win at Scotia — and it came with the added pressure of a championship battle that has tightened dramatically with just one race remaining.
Livingstone’s victory vaulted him into the points lead heading into the season finale, but there is virtually nothing separating the top three.
After Friday’s race, Livingstone leads Dawson Noble by just one point, with Andrew Lively only two points behind the leader.
Noble entered Friday night as the points leader but now sits second, while Lively is third.
That sets up a championship showdown on Finale Friday, Sept. 25, when the Maritime Auto Glass Sportsman division will settle the 2026 points battle.
Jeff Breen finished second in Friday’s feature, with Oakfield’s Alex Johnson crossing the line third. Enfield’s Scott O’Neil narrowly missed the podium, bringing the No. 96 home fourth, while Brentley Pirri completed the top five.
O’Neil also picked up the opening Sportsman heat race, while Livingstone won Heat 2 before going on to collect the feature victory.

Legends
The Legends were on the track for an extended 50-lap INEX feature, with Waverley’s Craig MacDonald coming out on top in the No. 98.
MacDonald took the checkered flag ahead of Caden Tufts and Chase MacKay. Campbell Delaney finished fourth and Devin Wadden rounded out the top five.
Sam MacDonald won the opening heat, with Craig MacDonald taking Heat 2.
Bandoleros
The United Mortgage Alliance Beginner Bandoleros ran a 15-lap feature, with Brayden Wood taking the victory ahead of Ryder Smith and Harper Grace.
Nicholas Farrell and Addison MacLean completed the top five, with both Farrell and MacLean listed as DNFs.
Farrell won the opening heat.
In the 20-lap United Mortgage Alliance Bandolero feature, Avery DeCoste picked up the win, followed by Bristol Matthews and Ben Turple. Addison Veinotte finished fourth, with Adlee Lively fifth.
Matthews won the division’s opening heat.
