Make sure you’re on the municipal election voting list

FALL RIVER: HRM wants to make sure you are on the municipal election list.

With Oct. 17 fast approaching, the day that residents will go to the polls in municipal elections across Nova Sctoia for their respective municipalities and and conseil scolaire acadien provincial elections. 

HRM residents are encouraged to review whether or not they are on the elector’s list. Those who may not be on the list of electors could have:

  • recently moved to or within the municipality or,
  • recently turned 18 

Residents can check their status by calling the voter helpline at (902)-490-VOTE (8683) or online through the Voters List search tool available at halifax.ca/election.

Those who find themselves not on the elector list can still vote if:

  • they have been a resident of Nova Scotia for at least six months prior to October 6, 2020
  • are a current resident of the municipality as of October 6, 2020
  • are 18 years or older by October 6, 2020, and
  • are a Canadian citizen by October 6, 2020
