EAST HANTS: A local group of moms will be holding a family-friendly run this November and December in support of the East Hants Family Resource Centre.

The Mama Bear Runners run is full in-person, so they’re going virtual now with participants asked to sign up and run virtually.

It all began as the group talked about dressing up for a run around Christmas time. Then it morphed into a Santa run that was an online option then they decided they wanted to donate to EHFRC because they do so many awesome things for the community.

Participants can run, walk, or stroll in support of local charity East Hants Family Resource Center (EHFRC). Total amount donated will go directly to EHFRC.

“Bring out those ugly sweaters, reindeer onesies (or whatever you have) to share some holiday cheer with your community,” says the event website. “Because we love the idea so much, we also welcome folks to participate as “Virtual Participant” with your friends and family on the date and time of your choosing.”

The suggested donation is $10 per person. Under 5 kids free. Family $30. Optional ornament additional $6.00 each. If not in person for event will have to plan for pick up. (*** Tax receipts available for donations (not including ornament funds) ***)

The deadline for registration is Nov. 21.
