WINDSOR JUNCTION: The owner of an all-women’s golf membership club in HRM has been nominated for an RBC Canadian Women Entrepreneurship award. The nominees were recently announced by Women of Influence.

Sara Wilson, who proudly calls Windsor Junction home, owns and operates Metro Ladies Golf Inc. She posted a few words on the companies Facebook page after learning she was nominated.

“Proud of our team at Metro Ladies Golf Inc,” she said. “To be Nominated among other amazing women working across industries is always an honour. Our community rocks.”

She has been in business for seven years and is a nominee in the Innovation category.

The RBC Canadian Women Entrepreneur Awards is the premier national awards program celebrating the achievements of the most successful in this inspiring group.

For 28 years, the awards have shone a spotlight on Canada’s most accomplished and impactful women who have demonstrated excellence — from economic growth to social change, from local to global reach, across multiple sectors.

Metro Ladies Golf Inc. is a unique for women only membership club in the Halifax Region. We know golf can be intimidating.

“Trust us; we have addressed those barriers that may have held you back from discovering the opportunities golf provides,” the About Us section on the FB page says. “There is something in it for every woman. We invite new women to learn the game or encourage those who have stopped playing to return. Everyone will benefit from having a larger group of ladies to play with.

“We create a fun, safe and welcoming environment to learn and play. We Guarantee you will have more fun playing golf with us.”
