Middle Sackville man charged with uttering threats, firearm offences

MIDDLE SACKVILLE: A 61-year-old Middle Sackville man has been charged after a weapons complaint on June 21.

At approximately 11:45 p.m. Halifax District RCMP responded to a weapons complaint where a man had a gun and had threatened another man. The suspect and victim were known to each other.

The victim was able to gain control over the suspect and held him down until police arrived.

No one was injured during this incident.

The suspect was arrested without incident and an unloaded firearm was seized from the scene.

A home was searched subsequently, resulting in the seizure of numerous weapons and a quantity of ammunition.

Phillip Dale Tower is charged with Uttering threats; Using a Firearm in the Commission of an Offence; Careless Use of a Firearm; Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose; and Storing Firearm or Restricted Weapon Contrary to

Regulation.

Tower was scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court today, June 22.
