MOUNT UNIACKE: Police are seeking information on a hit-and-run in Mount Uniacke on Jan. 16.

East Hants RCMP S/Sgt. Cory Bushell said the detachment received a complaint regarding an incident on Hwy. 1 in Mount Uniacke.

“The investigation revealed a small Sedan was making a right turn off Highway 1 when an unknown male on a blue and white dirt bike hit the right side of the Sedan causing serious damage,” said S/Sgt. Bushell.

“The impact caused the rider to sail into the snow filled ditch.”

He said the rider, a youth believed to be between 16-18-years-old, appeared to be injured.

“He advised the Sedan driver he did not have registration or insurance but would follow the sedan driver to her home to exchange information,” said S/Sgt. Bushell. “She agreed, but he fled the scene in the direction of Lower Sackville.”

S/Sgt. Bushell said anyone with information on this matter is asked to call East Hants RCMP at 902-883-7077.
