FALL RIVER: There must be something in the development of LWF Baseball players that leads to them getting provincial recognition.

Nine girl baseball players from the Fall River area have been named to the 25-person starting roster for the Under-16 Nova Scotia girls core team.

Baseball Nova Scotia announced the roster for the squad on July 12, saying the practice schedule and program details will be released on July 13 to the players selected.

Due to COVID19 restrictions it is uncertain whether the team will have a chance to play any games.

Picked to the squad from the local area are: Julie Adamson; Camryn Giddens; Molly White; Leah Copeland; sisters Aliyah and Hailey Strong; Julia Konigshofer; Jessie Paquin; Fenway Ryder; and Dylan MacLean. Several of the girls are registered or have suited up in the LWF Baseball Association.

In addition, the head coach is Mike Kongishofer with Jeff Strong as an assistant coach. Both are also from the LWF association.
