NINE MILE RIVER: A 47-year-old Nine Mile River has been charged under the Health Protection Act with not self-isolating upon returning to N.S.

East Hants RCMP were conducting a checkpoint on Dec. 20 in the area when members made contact with a driver.

The driver advised them he had returned from Ontario on Dec. 19.

“The driver told officers he was an essential worker,” said S/Sgt. Cory Bushell in a release as part of the weekly From the Cruiser column.

“Upon further inquiry, police determined this was not the case and the male was charged under the Health Protection Act.”
