ENFIELD: The community came together Sunday, Sept. 20, for the 46th Annual Terry Fox Run at the Royal Canadian Legion Montgomery Branch 133 in Enfield, helping continue Terry Fox’s dream of finding a cure for cancer.

Participants had a variety of distance markers to choose from along the route, including the 10-kilometre marker at the Elmsdale Irving and back to the legion.

This year’s event raised approximately $3,000 for cancer research.

Enfield Legion’s Christine MacAskill had the honour of cutting the ribbon to start this year’s Terry Fox Run.

Over the past 29 years of organizing the Terry Fox Run in Enfield, the community has raised an impressive $71,000 in support of Terry’s vision.

Organizers extended their thanks to everyone who volunteered their time, made a donation or took part in the run.

“Together we can finish it,” Margaret Smith said, encouraging residents to return next September and to bring a friend.

The annual event is a reminder that the legacy of Terry Fox continues to inspire communities across Canada, including right here in Enfield.
